This study establishes a building model of a public transportation hub with skylights, the static and dynamic evaluation methods are comprehensively used to systematically analyse and quantitatively evaluate its light and thermal environmental characteristics. At the same time, the energy consumption of the public transportation hub building and the influence of skylights on the thermal environment are studied based on energy consumption simulation. The results show that in rainy weather conditions, the natural lighting effect is difficult to meet the users’ needs, while in sunny weather, excessive solar radiation can easily cause glare and thermal discomfort problems. It is recommended to improve building energy efficiency by optimizing the skylight structure and setting adjustable sunshade devices. It is recommended to control the summer radiation temperature to a level close to the air temperature by optimizing the sunshade system of skylights and adjusting the optical performance of the glass based on the thermal comfort standard, and at the same time, determine a reasonable direct solar transmittance limit to improve the quality of the thermal environment under the skylights.
